Siddharth Gadepalli Siddharth is a senior at Enloe High School. He has been learning mridangam for the past nine years under the tutelage of Shri Sudhindra Rao under the Laya Sinchana School of Percussion. He is also taking advanced lessons under the tutelage of Shri HS Sudhindhra in Bangalore. Siddharth Has also been learning carnatic vocal music under Smt. Smitha Prasad and Shri Siri Varadhan.
Kapil Ramanarayanan Kapil is a 12th grader in Enloe High School. He has been learning mridangam for almost 12 years and is currently learning from Bangalore Sri Arjun Kumar. He has performed across the US and in India and has gotten awards for thani and accompaniment in Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana. Kapil has also learned western violin for 13 years and is part of the Philharmonic Association. Kapil also has an interest in A Cappella music and sings and beatboxes in his high school group.
Karthick Narayanan Srinivasa Raghavan Karthick Narayanan is a Graduate Student pursuing masters at NC state university from Chennai, India and has been learning mridhangam under Chrompet G. Suresh for over 10 years. He is a B-High Graded AIR Artist, and has accompanied several senior vidwans in Chennai and has performed consistently during the Madras Margazhi festival. Additionally, he has performed in all leading sabhas in Chennai as well as all over India. Karthick has won Guru Surajananda Award from Sri Krishna Gana Sabha for the year 61st Gokulashtami Series and was the winner of Sangeet Samrat 201
Shreyas Ashok Shreyas is a sophomore at NC State University, studying Mechanical Engineering. He has been learning Carnatic music for over 12 years. Currently, he is a student of Gana Kala Vipanchi Sri. R Suryaprakash, and also receives training from Smt. Mathangi Shankar. Shreyas has performed in various music festivals across the US, including Margazhi in Detroit, SRGMPDN, and NCYCAC.
Vignesh Gopal Vignesh Gopal is Junior at the Univeristy of Illinois at Urbana Champaign studying Electrical Engineering and Physics. He has been under the tutelage of the renowned Sri. Vittal Ramamurthy for the past 8 years learning the many nuances of the Lalgudi Bani. Vignesh has had the opportunity to perform all around the US and enjoys spending his winters in Chennai to participate in the Madras Margazhi festival. Vignesh is also an active member of Yuva Sangeetha Lahiri, a group centered in New Jersey founded by Dr. Suresh Ramachandran set to promote carnatic music in North America.
Madhu Vadlamani Madhu (Ganesh) Vadlamani is a rising junior at UNC, Chapel Hill, pursuing a Major in Computer Science and Minor in Astronomy. His initial training started in vocal from his aunt Smt. Sujana Parupalli at the age of 6. He later switched to violin and is currently under the tutelage of Smt. Seetha Ramakrishnan and Smt. Ranjani Ramakrishnan. He has won many prestigious awards at Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana and India.
Vinithra Sudhakar Vinithra Sudhakar is a violinist from Cary, North Carolina under the tutelage of Smt. Seetha and Ranjani Ramakrishnan. Vinithra has performed at various festivals and programs both as a soloist and accompanist. She also serves as a board member for NC Youth Classical Arts for Charity. Vinithra is currently a Junior at Enloe High School.
Smriti Sridharan Smriti is a 9th grader at Raleigh Charter. She started learning the Veena from her mom, Smt.Subha Sridharan and now is under the tutelage of senior Vidushi Smt. Kalyani Ganesan. She also learns vocal lessons from Smt. Vrinda Acharya. Smriti is a winner at the Cleveland Tyagaraja Aradhana Junior Krithi Competition 2017 for Veena.
Meghna Iyer Meghna has been pursuing music for the past five years. She has learnt from Smt. Mallika Vadlamani of Charlotte, and is currently learning from Smt. Rithu Rajendran of Chennai.
Sreeram Venkat Sreeram Venkat has been learning Carnatic music for over 12 years; he started learning from Smt. Shyamala Krishna in Kansas and is currently learning from Smt. Geetha Ganesh in Cary and Shri Malladi Suribabu in India. He is a freshman Goodnight Scholar at NC State university double majoring in physics and applied mathematics. He has performed at various events in the US and India and has won prizes in the Whistle Competition at the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana. Sreeram is a US Presidential Scholar and hopes to pursue mathematical modeling and interdisciplinary modeling as a career.
Manasi Krishnakumar Manasi Krishnakumar is a rising junior at Panther Creek High School. She was initiated into Carnatic music by Smt. Mathangi Shankar in Cary. Manasi currently learns Carnatic Vocal under the guidance of Smt. Chaitrra Sairam, disciple of Vidushri Bombay Jayashri and Smt. Ramya Kapadia, Natyarpana School of Dance and Music.
Arthi Nadhan Arthi Nadhan, 20 years old, is a student of Chitravina N Ravikiran.   After commencing her training from Smt. Vasanthi Iyer in Chicago, she was regularly going to Chennai to advance her training from the esteemed Vainika, the late Smt. Kalphagham Swaminathan and continued her training under Smt. Jayalaksmi Sekhar. Arthi is a junior at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor studying Chemical Engineering.
Arjun Raghavan Arjun Raghavan is a disciple of Sangita Kala Acharya Shri. T.H. Subash Chandran. He has also learned from Shri. Sudhindra Rao and Shri. Venkat Natarajan. Arjun has performed with senior musicians including Smt. Charumathi and Sangita Kalanidhi Shri. Trichur Ramachandran, Shri. O.S. Thiagarajan, Akkarai Sisters, Dr. M. Narmadha, and Santoor maestro Shri. Tarun Bhattacharya. He is the recipient of the Yuva Kala Bharathi and Azhiyur Natesa Iyer awards for Mridangam from Bharat Kalachar and Sri Krishna Gana Sabha respectively. Arjun graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in May 2017.
Maitreyi Sivaraman Maitreyi Sivaraman is a senior at Green Hope High School and has been learning Carnatic violin for almost 6 years under the tutelage of Smt. Seetha Ramakrishnan and Ranjani Ramakrishnan. She has played for various local events. She participated in the Sustaining Sampradaya program at Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana and has won prizes at the Cleveland competition. Maitreyi is also trained in Bharatnatyam and recently gave a recital for a fundraiser at UNC.
Eashwar Mahadevan Eashwar is a Senior at East Chapel Hill High School. He began learning mridangam from Arjun Raghavan at the age of nine, and continues to learn under both Arjun and his Guru Sangita Kala Acharya Shri T.H. Subash Chandran. Eashwar has performed with various artists including Vishaal Sapuram and at events such as NCYCAC, Swaralaya, and Vaggeyakara Vaibhavam. Eashwar has also been learning classical violin for more than twelve years and currently learns from Duke Music Professor Eric Pritchard.
Ahana Chellamani Ahana is a rising 7th grader at Carnage Middle School. She has been learning Carnatic music for over 8 years under the tutelage of Smt Subha Sundarajan. Ahana is also augmenting by being trained under Guru Shri K N Raghu. Ahana also learns kathak, plays volleyball, practices yoga and loves to swim.
Gaurav Sirdeshmukh Gaurav Sirdeshmukh is a junior at East Chapel Hill high school in North Carolina. He has been learning mridangam under the tutelage of Sangita Kala Acharya TH Subash Chandran in Chennai and Arjun Raghavan in Chapel Hill for more than 8 years. Gaurav has played at a variety of venues in and around the state.
Pranav Krishna Kumar Pranav started to learn violin from Sri Vikram Raghukumar and currently learns from Vidwan Vittal Ramamurthy . Pranav also plays western classical and is part of Duke and Philharmonic youth Orchestras.
Rohan Rao Rohan Rao is a rising sophomore at Panther Creek High School. Rohan has been learning Carnatic violin for 4 years. He had his initial training under Sri Vikram Ragukumar, and is currently learning under Sri B.U. Ganesh Prasad.
Akhil Pramod Akhil is a rising 7th grader at Davis Drive Middle school. He has been learning Carnatic violin from Sri. Palghat Sridhar. He has performed at several local events in the past few years . He is so excited to perform at the NCYCAC event this year.
Sriya Venkat Sriya is a 7th grader at Carnage Middle School. She has been learning Carnatic Violin from Sri. Palghat Sridhar for the past 4 years. She is also under the tutelage of Smt. Geetha Ganesh for Carnatic vocal music. Sriya has been giving concerts and accompanying youth talent throughout the Triangle area.
Amrita Mahadevan Amrita Mahadevan is a Green Hope High Junior. She plays the clarinet at the Green Hope High School Marching Band. She has been learning Carnatic music from her guru Smt. Mathangi Shankar since age 5. She has also been learning Piano from age 5 under the guidance of Mr. Larry Miedrich. Her Carnatic performances include platforms like Swaralaya, NCYCAC, Tamil Cultural Association and others.
Prashanth Iyer Prashanth is a rising sophomore at UNC Chapel Hill. He is currently a student of Smt.Ranjani Ramakrishnan.He has performed at NCYCAC for the past 5 years and has been a part of Sustaining Sampradaya in Cleveland. He's very interested in the fusion of different genres of music.
Siri Rao Siri has been learning Carnatic vocal from a very young age from Smt. Varuni Ravinder and now she is taking advanced lessons from Vid. Smt. Sreeranjini Kodampally. She is also learning Violin from Shri. PK Sridhar and is learning Mridangam and Konnakol from her father Shri. Sudhindra Rao. Siri has given vocal performances at many Sabhas in the US and Bangalore. Siri is a 8th Grader at Carnage Middle School.
Divya Nataraj Divya Nataraj is a tenth grader in Green Hope High School. Divya has been learning Carnatic music for 11 years. She is a student of Sampoorna Fine Arts where she learns from gurus Sri. K.N Raghu and Smt. Subha Sundarajan. She has also learnt from guru Smt. Vatsala Sampathkumar of Bangalore. Divya has participated in the Sustaining Sampradaya program with Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana, and has performed at events organized by NCYCAC, Swaralaya organization in NC, and other local Raleigh events. Divya plays the violin in her school orchestra and also plays the piano.
Samyuktha Sreeram Samyuktha Sreeram is a rising tenth grader in Briar Woods High School in Virginia. She learns ghatam from Sangita Kalacharya Sri TH Subash Chandran and vocal music from Kalaimamani Smt. Charumathi Ramachandran. Samyuktha has played in various music festivals and concerts in the US and in Chennai.
Samarth Rao Samarth has been learning Mrudanga from his father Shri Sudhindra Rao and Khanjira from Bangalore N Amrit. Samarth has won first prize in Khanjira at Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana competition. Samarth has been accompanying on Khanjira and Mrudanga at various Music sabhas in US and Bangalore. Samarth Rao is 9th grader at Enloe High school Raleigh NC.
Kruthi Bhat Kruthi Bhat, born into a family of musicians, she showed her interest towards music as a toddler and was initiated into Carnatic Music by her grandmother Smt. Krishnaveni, she is under the tutelage of her mother Vidushi Rajarajeshwary Bhat, her uncle Vidwan Vittal Ramamurthy, Vidwan Neyveli R. Santhanagopalan, and Vidushi S. Sowmya. She has had the privilege to learn from the legendary Padmabhushan Sri Lalgudi G. Jayaraman and Sri T. R. Subramanyan.Kruthi is a recipient of numerous awards in India as well as the United States .She recently received the titled “Isai Chudar” of 2016 by the Karthik Fine Arts and the “T. Brinda Endowment Award” 2016 by Sri Krishna Gana Sabha. She was awarded the “Best Female Vocalist- Spirit of Youth Series” 2016 from Music Academy, Chennai, "Best Vocalist"" by Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha, Winner of Carnatic Music Idol USA Season 3 from Maximum Media Jaya TV, and
one of the “Top Five voices for the Future” from Sruti Magazine at Tag Center.
Aishwarya Balaji Aishwarya Balaji is a 9th grader at Enloe High and has been Carnatic Music since the tender age of four. She is being classically trained by her guru Smt. Subha Sundar and by her Guru's Guru Sri K.N. Raghu. She has participated in several music programs such as Swaralaya and other local events. Apart from music she also learns Bharathanatyam.
Medha Srikanth Rao. Medha is music student of Smt.Mytreyi Shastry Arvind. She has previously performed in Swaralaya, NCYCAC , Icmds SV temple Greensboro, and SV temple Cary platforms. Medha is also a trained bharatnatyam dancer under Guru.Smt Supriya Desai .
Sharada Srikanth Rao Sharada is music student of Smt.Mytreyi Shastry Arvind. She has previously performed in Swaralaya, NCYCAC , Icmds SV temple Greensboro, and SV temple Cary platforms.Sharada is 3rd year kathak student. Has been learning western violin for 4 years.
Anvita Hariharan Anvita Hariharan began learning carnatic music for the past 8 years. She began her initial training from Dr. Sumanth Swaminathan at the age of 11, and is currently pursuing advanced training from Kalaimamani Padmashree Dr. Kadri Gopalnath during her annual visits to Chennai. She performs frequently for various occassions such as weddings, traditional concerts, and religious events around North America and India. In addition to performing, Anvita enjoys teaching carnatic music on the saxophone to her students around the U.S. Aside from music, Anvita is a sophomore at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign pursuing a double major in Public Health and Information Systems and technology.
Shruthi Rajagopalan Shruthi Rajagopalan is a rising senior at Panther Creek High and has been learning Carnatic Music for the past twelve years under the tutelage of Smt. Subha Sundar and is recieving training from Shri KN Raghu for the past 6 years. Shruthi has participated in the Cleveland Thyagaraja festival, Sangeet Samrat music competition, Swaralaya, Nada Vipanchi and many group performances including the NCYCAC festival as well as the local performances at SV Temple, Morrisville. She is looking forward to many more opportunities continuing her musical journey.
Maya and Malavi Ravindran Maya and Malavi Ravindran, sisters from Richmond VA. They train on advanced techniques under their father and guru Ravi Ravindran. They are a regular feature in the reputable sabhas during the Chenni December Music Festival.
